Obituary

Francis J. “Frank” Petrozzi, 92, of Worcester died Friday, May 3rd in St. Mary Health Care Center. He leaves his wife of 71 years, Barbara (Hall) Petrozzi; a son, Joseph Petrozzi and his wife, Diane of Oakham; a daughter, Susan Petrozzi of Worcester; three granddaughters, Sara Kenneway and her husband, Jayson, Amie Neville and her husband, Ryan, and Desiree Edmonds; five great grandsons, Jayce, Jarek, Javen, Fitzgerald, and Jakoby; and many nieces and nephews. Frank also leaves many close friends including his dear friend Ricky D’Ottavio. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Petrozzi; his sisters, Philomena Cogoli, Helen Petrozzi, Irene Petrozzi, Virginia Czubrynski, Mildred Gabriella, and Anna Guerra.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Joseph and Mary (Palouso) Petrozzi. Frank dedicated 37 years of his life to the phone company, where he served diligently as a stockroom clerk until his well-deserved retirement in 1992. His commitment to his work was evident in the joy he found in his job, making lasting friendships along the way.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Frank was a man of many talents and interests. He found joy in the art of landscaping, transforming ordinary spaces into beautiful havens, but like a true Italian, with as much cement as possible. As an amateur plumber and stockbroker, he approached each task with determination and enthusiasm, always eager to learn and explore new avenues. He watched the market religiously and would announce to all if it had been a good day.
Known for his unwavering work ethic, Frank was a shining example of dedication and perseverance. Yet, amidst his hard work, he never failed to share his infectious laughter and sense of humor. His desire for storytelling and practical jokes brought smiles to the faces of all who knew him, making every moment spent in his company a memorable one.
Frank thrived in the spotlight, reveling in being the center of attention at any gathering or celebration. He never missed his traditional Friday nights out with his friends filled with dancing and lots of laughter. His love for a good party was surpassed only by his love for his cherished Wednesday night family dinners. These weekly gatherings became a cherished tradition, eagerly anticipated by family and friends alike, as they provided a precious opportunity to bond and create memories. Frank valued his time spent with loved ones. His warmth, kindness, and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him, leaving a permanent mark on the lives he touched. Wherever he went, the party followed. Frankie lived life by his rules and enjoyed every second. We will be telling his stories for generations. And as he would say, to those departing from a Petrozzi party “thanks for leaving”. You were one in a billion Franko.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary Healthcare and Tatnuck Park for the compassion and care Frank received.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 10th in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
