Obituary

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Rose L. York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Johnson Creek Village in Dover, NH surrounded by her loving family. She was 91.

Rose was born on October 4, 1932 in Westford, MA to the late Thomas and Violet (Struzeuski) Perkins.

She was educated in the Westford school system.

After high school, Rose received an art scholarship to attend the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.

Rose married her high school sweetheart, Charles Smith in 1951. Together they raised 5 children in Pelham, NH.

She enjoyed her career in the hospitality industry for over 30 years before retiring from the Holiday Inn in Andover, MA. Rose was a very hard worker and taught her children to do the same in life.

Rose always had a smile and a positive outlook. She had a passion for life which included Faith, Family and Friends.

Rose also enjoyed traveling both in the US and Internationally.

Rose is survived by her 5 children, Charles, Thomas, Heidi, Alan and Rosalie.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, her sister, Jane Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased in death by her husband(s), Charles Smith, Harold Mills and Andrew York, as well her brothers, Stanley Fries, Frank and Donald Perkins.

Rose was the heart of our family and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 77 Long Hill Rd, Dover, NH 03820. For those who cannot attend in person, the Zoom Meeting ID is 894-1237-2178.
