LACONIA ---- Ernest Lee Brochu, 75, of Big Bend Drive, Laconia, NH, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Concord Hospital-Laconia with his family by his side.
He was born in Hardwick, VT, on May 17, 1948, the son of Phillip and Marilyn (Smith) Brochu.
Ernest grew up with his brother Donald "Doni” in Springfield, VT, and attended Riverside High School before joining the Navy, where he was a machinist on the USS Barney. He then spent more than 35 years as a machinist for Sturm, Ruger & Co.
Ernie was predeceased by his wife, Carrie Brochu; and is survived by his son, Paul Brochu and his two children, Ethan and Sydney; his daughter, Lori Hurst and her husband, Bryan, and their son, Logan; his stepdaughter, Terri Templeton and her husband, Leland; and his brother, Donald “Doni” Brochu and his wife, Kathleen.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen NH 03303.
A Celebration of Life will follow at Alan’s of Boscawen Restaurant, 133 North Main St., Boscawen NH 03303.
